Several years ago on April Fools' Day, The Saint disappeared. There was disbelief within the community that a 'sacred' iconic landmark had been defaced. Ironic really because if you think about it, painting a huge icon on a natural landmark can be considered defacement/graffiti in the first place. The next day, The Saint was back on the hill, watching over us mere Townsville and nearby Magnetic Island mortals.
He has also been painted pink for Breast Cancer awareness.
