Kray Stencil Graf
Browsing articles by Elaine - [previous] :: [next]ronnie and reggie kray were famous and glamourised (by iconographer david bailey) gangland bosses in the east end of london in the 60's. they both ended their days in jail, one in broadmoor, the home for the criminally insane, where a vastly more interesting character, william chester minor was either the first, or at least an early inhabitant en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Chester_Minor i digress. anyway, this is a take on a famous image of them which i found at the old street end of hackney road. i love the cheeky addition of the tesco bags, but the purse alludes to reggie's gayness, i think that is a little heavy handed. as indeed they were.

Sam: 29th May 2009 - 12:54 GMTT.wat didnt add the purse, that came after it. And Ronnie was the gay Kray, the twin depicted holiding the purse however is Reggie. Why so surprised to see high quality stuff not by Banksy? There is lots of it about! Comment on this article..Browsing articles by Elaine - [previous] :: [next] |
