Citynoise Date
[previous] :: [next]I was just wondering why the date on this website is always one day ahead? Like when you look at "todays" posts, it will show tomorrow, which of course, is empty. Unless the server is located in the farthest ahead time zone where it is tomorrow, why is this? And I don't think it's tomorrow anywhere since I'm in Taiwan at 10:30 in the morning right now. We are already 15 hours ahead of the US. This article has been viewed 3817 times in the last 20 months Peter: 30th Mar 2009 - 02:49 GMTbecause citynoise is an international site, we run on the official international time standard, which is Greenwich Mean Time see up there on the timestamp for this comment where it says "02:49 GMT" even though its only 10:49pm here in brooklyn and 10:49am tomorrow morning there in taiwan? ahh, globalization ;) BZZZP!: 30th Mar 2009 - 07:47 GMTyou know what drives me nuts? that "5" in front of brooklyn, ny under browse by city... it's like the weird punctuation in people's names in the last days of myspace, lexical speedbumps. jack: 30th Mar 2009 - 11:39 GMTthats because there are 5 brooklyn new yorks, don't you know that! and who the hell lives in GMT? how about brooklyn mean time, now that's a real mean time zone. Peter: 30th Mar 2009 - 13:19 GMTBZZZP, there, i just changed it to "10" for you ;P seriously, though... ill look into fixing it. its one of those random errors that pops up from time to time... Jamie: 31st Mar 2009 - 11:31 GMTFixed! as for the time... GMT is where it's at bitchez, and i'll cut anyone who says different, you hear me? Jamie: 31st Mar 2009 - 11:33 GMTumm. Having said that, there are some places where the site erroneously jumps to tomorrows date in relation to GMT. How odd. David: 2nd Apr 2009 - 01:58 GMTIT's jumping a full day ahead, though!!! And no where on earth right now is it a full day ahead of now (I'm in Asia). Peter: 2nd Apr 2009 - 02:02 GMTi wouldnt worry too much about it, david. what can i say, were ahead of our time ;) Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
