also looking at these pictures, it's so funny what a difference in "my cellphone camera" a couple of years made

... probably because the phone is just a different feel and the camera is so much more like a real camera and takes pictures that are just real pictures and not strange abstractions

i have started to lug around an intermediate phone (1.3mpx) for "cameraphone like photography" before it's totally antiquated

There was more of a lomo-esque impressionism to be found with older cameraphones, and older digital cameras in general. I guess you have to draw a distinction between photography as a means of documentation and photography as an art form. Thats not to say that one cannot be the other of course.
