National Penn Colosseum - a Building That Never Was
[previous] :: [next]
The National Penn Colosseum was an unbuilt project from the firm of Emory Roth & Sons. No information as to where this was supposed to go but it would've been a far more worthy replacement to Penn Station that the current MSG complex. This woulda been a damn sight finer than either of those brutalist under-acheivements. Nice find, as always!

the tone of Rich's comment aside, it is likely he was referring to the Seven sisters "Wedding Cake" buildings put up by Stalin just before his death, rather than you being a communist. members.tripod.com/rossiya_david/id39.htm But you probably knew that and were just having a little fun :) Rich: 21st Feb 2009 - 00:40 GMTJust to clear the air, I was referring strictly to the picture presented and I think Ms. Franny knows that, also as you've stated CartLegger. I think you might have over-analyzed my very short comment. I'm not nor will I ever call or imply that anyone is a communist. I also appreciate Ms. Franny's time and effort she applies to her posts just as everyone else. What I will say is: "You were in the ballpark about the Stalin buildings, but, please relax". CartLegger: 21st Feb 2009 - 16:29 GMTHee hee hee: we must have one of the most polite blogs out there! Its all about the Urban form, right? Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
