Welcome from Townsville, Mime! Is that a place or a state of mind?
I like this image! Please send more from your strange corner of earth!

Mime: 28th Jan 2009 - 11:27 GMT

Thanks for the welcome, CartLegger.

Townsville is rather like a plantar wart. It grows on you, innocuously, until it starts to expand outwards.

(We grow 'em big here in the tropics.)
From the summit of in the above image you can see:

I'm currently trawling the streets for decent .

or any old oddball place....

We'd be happy to see anything from there.

Locally called the '' until recently this was the tallest building in Townsville.

Sacred Heart Cathedral situated on the side of .

The Bank, a nightclub along the strip and an historical facade.

This ramp no longer exists but I remember being a young child walking down it into the mall. When I took this photo, I was talking to a fellow who owned the store just beside the bottom of the ramp and he told me that they were demolishing it soon, so I took the opportunity to preserve some images of this unique, hidden part of town.

A bit of randomness. This is wall next to a place I used to live that also no longer exists. In its place is now a high-rise holiday resort.

CartLegger: 29th Jan 2009 - 03:40 GMT

Its nice to see places that no longer exist.

on the map but off it

First and only (to date) .
25 A4 pages. 2am-3am. This was about a month old when I photographed it. So far it seems someone tried to start peeling it off at one corner and gave up.

Apparently, other tags and spray graf have appeared around it and have been painted over, but they left my pastie visible. I feel somewhat honoured.

Liam Keys: 31st Oct 2009 - 23:09 GMT

The Sugarshaker is still the tallest building in Townsville, Its 76ms tall and the new Dalgety is only 73ms tall.
