On the corner of E. Houston and Navarro Streets in San Antonio. The old building was built in the 1800's and the floors were warped. The employees had to use a conveyor belt to bring stock up from the basement.

The new store is 12,500 square feet compared to 6,500 that the old store had.

The closing of the Walgreen's was actually a big deal since it was the only pharmacy downtown and the only convenience store. We don't even have a downtown grocery store.

The new store is retro in the style of the architecture and also in using the old style Walgreen's signs.

Why does this walgreens spelled with no "s"?

sdw: 7th Jan 2009 - 00:58 GMT

I remember the old walgreens, keeping the wonderful signs and a new building that echoes the old one without the 3rd floor.....Nice!
