Despite the fact that this post is a blatant effort to see what sorts of phreaker traffic attracts from Google, it is interesting to note that phone booths are a real rarity in NYC, especially now so that even payphones themselves are getting rarer.
I spotted this interesting purpose-made booth in the 80th Street A train station in Ozone Park on my way to East New York.

don't remember that station, i used to get the A train on at 111th street. Comment on this article..
