Wow, beautiful. You are soooo lucky to be in Brooklyn. I wish I lived somewhere alive like Brooklyn :-(

luna park: 22nd Nov 2008 - 03:57 GMT

where do you live?
brooklyn's pretty great still, although it's slowly losing it's character.

little ukraine: love pictures like this

I live in Hutchinson, Kansas. Sometimes, I feel like I like a hundred lifetimes away from the so called "real world". It's kind of depressing. I see so much life going on in other places, online, on the television. I am out of this place as soon as I can get out. I can't imagine how somewhere like Brooklyn could lose its character when so many places exist in America with absolutely no character whatsoever. I can't wait to move from here, though my mother dismisses my dreams of moving to Brooklyn as futile as hers to move to San Francisco way back when. But look where she ended up. I don't want that for myself.

luna park: 25th Nov 2008 - 17:40 GMT

i moved to brooklyn from delaware almost 12 years ago. never regretted it.
what i meant by brooklyn losing it is the recent rush to build soulless, glass high rises that are entirely at odds with the character of the neighborhood in which they are being built... many smaller businesses are losing way to national franchises... i see it as the gradual disneyification of new york.
