I am from Bhadwarwah. www.bhadarwah.com Ithaca college student: 2nd Nov 2008 - 21:49 GMTWait, isnt this place in ridgewood and not bushwick???? upfromflames: 2nd Nov 2008 - 21:57 GMTthe border is a tricky matter, careful reader. If I may refer you to my Google Map of Bushwick, you will see Wyckoff is the border. And since, this is on the Bushwick side of Wyckoff, it is indeed Bushwick. Perhaps equally as important, my friend's and co-teacher's grandpa owned this shop, which is a whole other border in time between today's Bushwick and yesterdays. Either, it says what I feel. Peter: 3rd Nov 2008 - 14:02 GMThahaha, you know, because people cant seem to resist bringing up some contention whenever brooklyn neighborhoods are concerned, when i first saw this photo, i thought "hmm, its only a matter of time before someone is all like 'hey thats not technically bushwick!' i bet..." and sure enough, "Ithaca College Student" didnt let us down! im with upfromflames on this one. check the map, ithaca. Ithaca college student: 3rd Nov 2008 - 21:52 GMTIt is a tricky matter... I could be wrong but i thought this store was located on myrtle, which is why the mcdonalds flag can be seen beuase if it is then its right across the street from bushwick. Either way, it says what we both feel.. I did have a question Upfromflames, do you know a Mr. Resnick from I.S. 349? upfromflames: 4th Nov 2008 - 03:26 GMTDang! You are right! I am so used to going to this shop, getting out at this subway stop, that I did not realise I was in Ridgewood the whole time! Well, it does not stop me from loving Bushwick. But yep, I used to work with Lee at IS349, in my early Bushwick days. I.C. Eric: 4th Nov 2008 - 04:44 GMTResnick was my history teacher!!!!! i graduated in 04, and i just started college... ive been following your work for some time. I know it was just a project but i learned alot from the upfromflames website. Its one of the most infromative ones out there. Brooklyn's history has always interested me, especially bushwick's and reading about it was just awesome man. Great work! I ve been meaning to attend one of those tours but im not even near the city anymore :/, at least not till the end of nov. CartLegger: 19th Jan 2009 - 23:25 GMTHe's very proud of you, Eric. He's just too baffled by technology to get on and get back to you. You can reach him via fuzzymeow on hotmail Comment on this article..Browsing articles by Upfromflames - [previous] :: [next] |
