Riding My Bike Around Downtown

Took the day off, took the bike to downtown Minneapolis and snapped some pictures.

I think is is really a violin shop.

Old wall painting. I remember when 7Up looked like this.

Minneapolis City Hall

1st Avenue (or 1st AV to the locals) Ya know, where they filmed Purple Rain.

image 28501

Lots of bands have played 1st AV or the 7th St. Entry (the other stage in there.)

Urban Canyon type photo (a little keystoning going on here.)

The REALLY cheap seats at Target Center (probably where most Wolves fans would like to watch from. Makes walking out easier.)

Cool old school Steak House

The Grain Exchange lets you know which street you're next to

and gives you somewhere to park your old gum

And for Jack. Yes you "can make it after all."

This was actually put on the very spot she did this during the opening credits for the show by TVLand. They even found the daughter of the little old lady frozen in time staring at her in the background (massively arcane reference but how could you miss her and holy shit if someone doesn't have a screen capture out there. sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/images/mary_tyler_moore.gif.) Of course the store was named Daytons back then and Daytons started this little discount store chain you may have heard of called Target. Daytons, using the Target money bought Marshall Fields out of Chicago back in the 80's and then in the 90's changed the name of Daytons to Marshall Fields and then the whole company name was changed to Target. As the child ate the parent Target then sold Marshall Fields (and Mervyns) to May who then got bought out by Macys like a year later.

Wow, i need to explore Minnesota more. More like Minneapolis since i've lived in this city for 9 yrs now, thats 56% of how long i've lived on earth. Green way is the best place to ride bikes and from there, the lake. Haha- the gum part is funny. Thanks.

i was in munich last week for work. in my free time, i wandered around the city, photographing whatever captured my interest... these guardians (gryphons? dragons? swans?) spoke to the former goth girl in me.
