Maxwells Fire
[previous] :: [next]This is from the 2nd of February (I've been busy . . ) Anyway, middle of the day, in a meeting and we look over and here's the black smoke rolling out of this building one block over (you can see the Metrodome in the background.) There was (is) this cool little bar on the first floor called Maxwell's. I believe they are going to come back since the building is being rehabbed and none of the signage has been taken down.
I believe the fire department calls this part "surround and drown." This was taken more then an hour after the first two. You have to feel for the folks in the apartments above. Notice the sand truck. Washington Ave is a very busy road (since it's part of the reroute around the collapsed 35W bridge.)
The next day I wandered over and took some close ups. That was a lot of water they sprayed on that fire. Mike: 20th Aug 2008 - 10:16 GMTI miss Maxwells, I heard it's reopening Sept 1st??? Please let it be sooner... I'm craving the Thursday night 25cent wings!
