This place is always one of my first stops whenever I'm in , though I guess it's technically in . The random/specialty stuff you can find there is so irresistible that I actually packed a box-full of stuff I purchased at the market back to with me. Yum...

I gotta agree with you on this one Peter. With all the nutritional wonders of NYC, nothing can quite measure up to the magic of the Dekalb Farmers Market. The food is from everywhere, the people are from everyhwere, the customers are from everywhere, all under one wondrous roof

One question though: When I was growing up, I had the idea that there was a sort of New agey religious that the employees were expected to follow. Not that it was up to them, but related to the owners somehow. I am sure this is incorrect, but what is the reality of working at the farmer's market?

One these saturday's I'll bother to photograph Sarnia's Farmer's Market.

Question: it has the name of different countries near the ceiling - does this Farmer's Market boast of international bearings? Our market is all about the local, local, local. Furthest fruit comes all the way from... TWO HOURS away. Gah.

P.S my veggie loving friend: I'm happy to say my garden gave birth to a big bouncin' baby zucchini yesterday.

before reading your comment, zagg, i was thinking just the same thing...

if the products are coming from somalia and belgium it wouldn't exactly fit the definition of what i think of as a "farmer's market". maybe it's more like a regular market.
