here's what awaited me when i returned to my hometown from tokyo. i love this part of town compared to the suburban wasteland where i spent most of my formative years. the onion-dome church is probably unique in this city of 326,000 people. it stands kind of aloof at the end of chester street, stuck beside a big empty lot like the odd kid out on a playground. i wish i could love my hometown more, but it's cursed by its medium size. the good spots are too few and too far between. it's a city of parking lots and strip malls and beautiful old houses with people inside watching tv.

Fairview and Raywood: when I was a kid, I used to shovel snow for the woman who lived there!

Fairview and Whetter: the MacEachern's used to live there.
