Concorde SST
[previous] :: [next]
Nearly every city and town has travel agencies. They are a ubiquitous part of commercial infrastructure and have been since we invented travel. Leaflets and posters by the million zillion billion. Plastic model airliners in the windows. Outposts of glamour and escape. In the 1970s the Concorde/SST represented the ultimate in air travel. It made sense then that some agencies adopted Concorde/SST images for their flashy, sexy, disco, high speed associations. Don't know if the Concorde ever landed in Malta or sported a maple leaf on the tail but I can't help liking this sharp-lookin' machine. As a bonus, this one, from the Junction area of Toronto, is a hand-painted sign. These are becoming as rare as Concordes. I suppose it's true that when the Concorde crashed the future kind of went with it. This article has been viewed 2734 times in the last 44 months Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
