This article has been viewed 2666 times in the last 44 months Peter: 7th Jun 2008 - 03:31 GMTwow, the cars, the smiling cops, the uniforms... definitely a different scene nowadays... nice photos, mike. id love to see more, for sure! joey: 7th Jun 2008 - 22:28 GMTmy uncle john was a nyc policeman in the 60's. he once let me sound off the siren in his patrol car. it was so long ago i don't remember much more. i'll ask my mom for more details- see if she remembers. is that a ford fairlane? Mike L.: 8th Jun 2008 - 01:24 GMTCould be a Fairlane (1966?) - the headlights were pretty distinctive Peter: 8th Jun 2008 - 04:39 GMTclose, but i say 1967 galaxie:
check the downward curve in the bumper below the headlight on the right, the curve of the rear fender right past the rear door, the placement of the gas cap, the squared-off slots in the grille, the notch that runs up the hood just to the right of the "d" in ford, the chrome side-trim, the... oh shit. i think ive just outed myself as a car geek. if i had one of those, id drive the hell out of it, even with $4/gal gas, hahaha... its a great looking whip that you practically never see around anymore at all. though im pretty much a fan of any car with vertically-stacked headlights. the 70s mercedes 300s, 70s volvo 164s, the current caddie srx, pretty much any oldschool le mans car...
