As a High School student in the 1960's, I captured this shot without raising an eyebrow of suspicion of the NYPD. Innocent times.

yes, definitely more! these photos youve been sharing are great...

Mike L.: 8th Jun 2008 - 01:31 GMT

Thanks! I'm digging through decades of cobwebby, dusty troves (negatives, prints, etc.) hoping for something that isn't irremediably scratched or stained.

Peter: 8th Jun 2008 - 04:27 GMT

well, these that youve posted are absolutely great- theyre letting me see my city back in the day as ive imagined it, but never actually seen it... im really digging them. you should most definitely feel free to share any you want here... i have a feeling it wont be long before your posts start picking up more even fans on here, hahaha.

what were those cops doing?and why did you photograph them?

Mike L.: 12th Sep 2010 - 19:53 GMT

Sarah, I do not know what those cops were doing. I do remember, however, that a que of white-gloved, uniformed cops outside a phone booth, set against the "seedy" backdrop of XXX-rated flicks, presented an opportunity for a picture that would probably never again present itself. The slightly impatient-looking lady on the right? Just lucky. Thanks for asking. Actually, it just looked like a very comical scene.

Linda: I love the uniform they wore back then!
