Nancy: 18th Dec 2008 - 14:11 GMTI live right on Menahan Street this store is not there anymore it has been replaced with a new 99 cent store. I'm happy the store in the picture is gone it had this man who would yell from 9 in the morning till closing time "JEANS FOR 5 DOLLARS!". I could hear him in my apartment it was awful! mondrian13@aol.com: 9th Mar 2009 - 17:03 GMTI lived at 49 Menahan and attended PS 75 in the 30's. The neighbor hood was 'family' and we all knew each other very well. Summers in the evening were sat on the 'Stoop'. I remember Skillman and Porter families. There was a saloon somewhere to the left of 49 and some wild goings on. I forgot the name of the candy store owner but he did chase us a lot. My family name was Warnke. anon (cache-dtc-af11.proxy.aol.com): 16th Apr 2009 - 19:22 GMT
