I've googled for other stuff by this guy and he has his own website. He's been quite prolific all over the uk, most notably in London and Brighton (gay capital of the uk by the way, just to throw that cookie into the pot) I personally have an affection for his work, and have since began to notice it's infiltration into mainstream media here in the uk. His "designated picnic area" stencil motif appearing in a fucking Jamie Oliver cookbook of all things. elaine: 20th Apr 2005 - 11:05 GMTDid he do 'drive carefully in our vilaage' in Hoxton? sounds like his sense of humour. Jamie Oliver can do anything he likes now in my opinion after blowing the lid on the UK child malnutrition scandal. First world country feeds it's kids worse than food aid standard? lovely jubbly! Jamie: 20th Apr 2005 - 11:32 GMTHeh, i work in a secondary school. Because of Jamie Oliver they've taken away all the vending machines! Jamie: 20th Apr 2005 - 13:07 GMT
Peter: 20th Apr 2005 - 19:34 GMTheh, we got that cookbook as a wedding gift. most of hte recipes are totally pukka, mate. also: we got jamie oliver dishes, heh. good style, to say the least. Picnic Enthusiast: 21st Apr 2005 - 14:12 GMTMore scenic picnic areas from around the uk - Personally selected by Banksy elaine: 22nd Apr 2005 - 16:07 GMTreluctantly becoming a fan. I have just broken my journey early to pphotograph some banksy and chums for your interest..Obviously I have VERY IMPORTANT things to do, so I won't be doing them for a while, as i will be busy resizing pics... ho hum elaine: 22nd Apr 2005 - 16:13 GMTWow! Ta! i had hoped to be elected pope, but it seems that it's less a problem that i'm not a catholic, but not being male is a real no no, so queen it is, I'll stick a pin thru my nose as soon as I've uploaded the snaps ERA: 8th May 2005 - 17:55 GMTi just saw this today. im a gaint fan of banksy. there's a lot more of his work down the road where the palace was. me and my mates were perposley wandering around looking for post graffiti. Downey: 3rd Aug 2006 - 20:30 GMTGiant rat destroys Liverpool? Have you not looked at the building behind the rat? Look at the state of it. Hes saved the demolition workers a job and made an eyesore into art. Banksy is an artist. aer suzuki: 3rd Aug 2006 - 21:14 GMTi think the title was a joke, downey, it makes the photo even funnier. i'm curious as to how this was accomplished... sarah: 17th Oct 2006 - 23:59 GMTI saw this piece of Banksy work when I moved home to Liverpool for the first time in 6 years and i agree.. his work has turned an eyesore into a work art, that I feel rivels if not leaves in the dust the city paid for 'art' (yoko ono) that we have paid millions for in the past years!! Stu: 7th Dec 2006 - 00:04 GMTI have heard this is not by Banksy but by someone called kidacne some toy anyway, does anyone have any info on this Stu anon (localhost): 22nd Dec 2006 - 13:23 GMT
Snapped this one a few weeks ago, it was hanging outside St Lukes Church. ben: 4th Jan 2007 - 14:31 GMT"I have heard this is not by Banksy but by someone called kidacne some toy anyway, does anyone yeah, it was Banksyas there is a banksy stencil on it, and kidacne is not a toy. Dawn: 8th Jan 2008 - 13:07 GMTI heard on the radio yesterday that people in liverpool are campaigning to get rid of it because they think its just graffiti and not 'art'. They also said that because Liverpool is becoming the capital of culture it will reflect badly on the city. I think this ignorant and uneducated standpoint is exactly the reason why Liverpool is not ready to be Capital of Culture. 'Culture' doesn't have to mean good music, museums and history. The love rat fits into the city like a scally fits into a fray. Dunny DuNsTeR: 10th Jan 2008 - 18:27 GMTDawn, I totally agree. This is totally the point, Banksy's work is all about culture. I am sure if they do take it down he will come back with something equally provocative. Just as he did recently when Tower Hamelet’s said they would paint over his work, he came back the same week with this:- Fred Lewis: 19th Mar 2008 - 12:45 GMTThe article title's confusing - I thought it was a Derek Hatton reference.
