Bushwick Bomberos

After snapping this photo, I talked to the FDNY fireman who was hosing down the sidewalk out front of the station, Engine 218 at 650 Hart Street. He was an Irish fellow who lives on Long Island, but he was quick to tell me that his parents lived in Bushwick before he was born. I think he's the only Irish person I've ever seen in the neighborhood. Hosing down their homemade wooden sculpture of the WTC, he grinned and said "Look, I'm hosing down the {World Trade Center". It was sort of weird. This article has been viewed 948 times in the last 15 months Baby Snooks: 16th Apr 2008 - 17:23 GMTIs that a fire hose around his neck? And is that his belly button? And are those succulent plants he's trampling? In Bushwick? And if the city is on fire, why isn't he walking the other way? And why does he look like a bumblebee?
