After snapping this photo, I talked to the fireman who was hosing down the sidewalk out front of the station, at 650 Hart Street. He was an Irish fellow who lives on , but he was quick to tell me that his parents lived in before he was born. I think he's the only Irish person I've ever seen in the neighborhood.

Hosing down their homemade wooden sculpture of the , he grinned and said "Look, I'm hosing down the {World Trade Center".

It was sort of weird.

Is that a fire hose around his neck? And is that his belly button? And are those succulent plants he's trampling? In Bushwick? And if the city is on fire, why isn't he walking the other way? And why does he look like a bumblebee?

CE: Isn't he afraid of his mustache catching fire?
