Dilapidated and boarded up when I used the catch the bus there in the late 1970’s who would have thought that it would eventually be restored to its former glory. The Hotel Deanza at the corner of Santa Clara St and Almaden Blvd in San Jose is a fine remnant of the art deco era.

nice ... the late 70's were a bad time evrywhere,massive urban decay, kids don't know how easy they got it now

Here is another look at the Hotel Deanza from "back in the day" circa 1930's

By the time this photo was taken in 1975, The Hotel Deanza was a flea bag just a year or so away from being closed down.
