Inspired by Jack's "TIGHT SQUEEZE" post. This was taken while cycling around New York City back in March at the intersection of 31st Street and Dyer Ave/Lincoln Tunnel Expressway.

I am always amazed at people who place themselves between large, right turning vehicles, and the curb/pole. Are they thinking something like "since the driver can't see me, I can just slip through here?".
Dude's just lucky it was a low bus, rather than a higher truck. Could have been a Jaws of Life situation instead.
Side guards on trucks would help save the lives of drivers like this, but I really don't think it would do much for bike riders. Folks, stay out of this kill zone.

EvilGentleman: 31st Dec 2007 - 23:41 GMT

They should make idiots like this re-do their driver's tests on the spot.
