I went her for this years Mermaid Parade Ball. It was really cool inside--all rough and falling apart. It's quite lovely.

I love that old building! I hope they don't mess it up too much. I took a bunch of photos of it as well the last time I was in New York, about three years back.

I used to eat at the Childs restaurants. There was one up by Columbus Circle where I spent a lot of my youth. Here's a shot of the boardwalk leading up to the Child's building in Coney Island, where JOEY TPA used to eat.

My mother used to speak about Child's - her brothers spent time in NYC in the early 1900's, and a relative supposedly worked there. We have a few pieces of restaurant ware, which she thought were from Child's. Maybe someone will come forward with more pictures or items salvaged so others can identify memorabilia.
