Rain Stops Play
[previous] :: [next]When you walk the same journey, at the same time, every single day, you pass the same people in the same places, at the same times. I tend to use these familiar passers-by to judge how far behind or ahead of schedule i am. It isn't an accurate measure by any means. They themselves could be late, or indeed early, but nonetheless it is something i subconsciously do on a daily basis. Most mornings i pass the fat girl on the strecth of wasteland that is used sometimes for a livestock market. This morining it was raining. Most mornings i pass the big awkward guy at about the halfway point. But. This morning it was raining. I wonder if i will pass crazy anorak fat guy on the way home? This article has been viewed 13332 times in the last 5 years jamie: 23rd Mar 2005 - 17:30 GMTi am becoming increasingly uncomfortable whilst passing by the large girl. She makes eye contact in a way that makes me feel wrong, yet i feel equally awkward in my avoidance of this eye contact. Don't get me wrong, i am not attracted to the large girl in any way. I'm not. elaine: 26th May 2005 - 19:47 GMTdid you ever get off with livestock girl in the end? maybe big awkward guy turned out to have a certain way about him? manda: 25th Jun 2005 - 06:34 GMTi do the same thing - and to feel comfortable on a new route, a new daily walk, i have to quickly identify the people i will see every day. otherwise i feel lost.
