I find the treets with lamposts and nothing but grass where buildings were, kinda eery, in a good way.

trish: 6th Oct 2009 - 15:33 GMT

possilpark was a great place to live when all would look out for each other sadly its full of grass now.

possilghirl: 12th Oct 2009 - 18:17 GMT

I used to live in the building in the picture. Times may hav been tough bt i loved my time in possil. It brought back great memories.

liam.don8: 6th Mar 2010 - 22:37 GMT

I look at these photo's and feel shame and regret (and yes angry) at the way the fine people of Possilpark were treated by Glasgow City Council. All the homes, streets and byways were badly neglected and at the end most homes and streets were nothing more than hovels and we paid rent for them.

While I feel this way (I'm sure many others do the same) the Council should hang their collective heads in abject shame.

I was born at 26 Balglass Street in 1954 where I lived with granny and grander Scott. I read JimMags post and thought I`d comment.I remember all those families. My sister Davina bumped into Isabel Radcliffe only last week. My brother used to empty Mrs Ruane's pail
every day for a tanner. She lived on the top floor as I remember.
Mr Radcliffe was well known too, he was fun. My granny would threaten us that if we misbehaved she would tell Mr Radcliffe to use his belt on us. LOL. Mrs Cowan kept a lovely garden. I think the Ethersons lived above us opposite the the Hendersons. I, to many of you, would be the kid you chased from raiding your middens, lol.
Great days. I am now married and live in South Wales.
