Retro Ghetto

I was walking down between and in just now and saw a crowd of people around a car. I of course rubber necked it on my way by and saw a brand new Infiniti SUV up on milkcrates; all four wheels were missing. When I asked the cop what happened he told me someone had stolen the wheels.

Man, I have't seen a car on crates (or bricks) since the 80s! Retro Ghetto!

Unfreaking believable.
So I went out there to take some pictures, hoping it was still there. It was. As was the guy and his wife, so I talked to them for a while. Get this...

It happened just 2 hours ago, in broad daylight. Not a scratch to the car and it is nicely positioned on the milk crates. There is NO WAY someone didn't see this go down. The lugs are all nicely left on the ground and nothing else is wrong... just no wheels. The guy and his wife are still waiting for a tow truck, but the police came and went and didn't even bother to really do much at all.

Make sure you put your club on both your driving and road wheels!

wow, that really sucks

ouchthatsucks: 25th Oct 2010 - 17:11 GMT

Wow since the 80's??? Go to some of the "underprivileged" or industrial areas of the city and you will see itA LOT more often. Where I live in the Bronx this is a common sight and rarely does the actual car stay in that great shape after the process!!! In the Bronx sometimes they don't even bother use crates or bricks, they just leave your ride on the pavement!!! How's that for ghetto!!! LOL!

The police left without bothering to do much at all? What do you expect them to do, call in detectives and take finger prints or put out an APB for Infiniti wheels in a city where people are getting shot, hit by cars, and trapped in burning buildings? You shouldn't jump on the NYPD like that, they do a great job every day for not very much money and they'll always be there.

actually, the fx series is registered and insured as a stationwagon, but i think it's more of a speedwagon (crossover staionwagon)
