my mom has passed on. the pieta was on her funeral card. i was out in california at the beginning of march for two weeks and then i left her and then i got the call. so i went back to bury her. i gave the eulogy. the war years she and i were in a small apartment by ourselves. i never cried when i got beat up in street fights in brooklyn, i never cried when i saw my buddies killed in the army, i thought i was too old to cry. call your parents, look into their eyes, do you know the color of your moms eyes?

Jack-I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you find comfort in family and friends during this sad time. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photo.

Treasure the years you had together.
Celebrate her life.
The reason that you have the level of respect at citynoise that you do is that your comments and insights show you to be a caring and decent man. This is your mother's legacy, as she helped make you the man you are. She did well.
The love you show the world when you make caring comments or crack a good joke, this love is a piece of your mom that you have chosen to share with us.
Your tears are a badge of honor that you should wear proudly. The son who does not cry when he loses his mother is the one who should feel shame.
Thank you for sharing with us, even at the most painful of times.
Now you have a guardian angel who loves you.

You have my deepest heartfelt condolences, jack.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Jack. I just lost my grandmother and was unable to make it to the funeral which was very tough. It's all a part of life though that we all must deal with.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 17th Apr 2007 - 22:50 GMT

My heart goes out to you and your family, Jack. All I can say is that a cup of tea and time will lessen the sadness. Then remember the good times and smile when you think of your mum.
