Bushwick: You Could Cut Yourself on That Thing

The absurd angle of this building at the corner of Dekalb and Myrtle--under the M line--is itself a measure of the extent to which the Bushwick real estate market has shot up to bizarre heights in the last few years.

Traffic islands; who builds on triangular traffic islands in the city? This one stood empty for years, full of trash. But no longer. Someone is building some sort of business here now.

Wow. Watch out, you might cut yourself. On the building; on the market.

I'm intrigued by this building as well. What the hell's going to go in there? I bet it's only 200sf per floor - tops! Do you think it will have a small apartment upstairs? I live about a block and a half away, on Stanhope between Central and Myrtle. I just got a new apartment on Starr between Knickerbocker and Irving. Right on the park, so I'm psyched but am realizing quickly that my new landlord is not exactly concerned about the building. Still, it's rent stabilized and my current landlord is selling the building I live in so I feel like I can take a breath for a moment and not have to worry about leaving bushwick anytime soon.

Sorry, Armstrong. Its not dramatic as all that. I found out the other day that its going to be used as an MTA office, for local workers. Its MTA property, so no hot market to measure the climb of here.

That said, its still good to see every bit of land begin used, even to this extreme. It really is the opposite of the wasteland used to be.

Armstrong: wow man, that link is great!

Every time I see something like this pop up along the M line, I hope against hope, that it means they're going to start renovating the line, esp the Central and Knickerbocker stations which both have roofs that leak so bad, you need to keep your umbrella open INSIDE the stations. I think it's pretty low on the MTA's priority list though, for now anyway.

Spring Midday Sun

Finding myself by the pool where I took the An Experiment, I thought of experimenting on the sun's reflection. I haven't posted any of my vertiginous pictures in awhile, so, I thought it's about time.
