Bushwick: the Next Hot Neighborhood?

- upfromflames - Thursday, March 29th, 2007 : goo

I found this poster on a vacant lot (that is part of the West Bushwick urban renewal area). It purports itself to be a sort of conceptual piece, asking for people to write their thoughts on it...

Is it just a ploy from a sly marketeer?

History and real estate market aside, just what is it that makes Bushwick the next hot neighborhood that it is being called?

PS: if you are the person responsible for these posters, let us know what you were thinking...

ash: bushwick is the hotttest neighborhood

upfromflames: and what makes this so?

Luis Acevedo: 4th Aug 2007 - 00:48 GMT

In my opinion what makes this neighborhood so hot is that people are moving to what they consider to be cheaper rents than in soho or midtown. The L train gets you to manhattan in 20 minutes. The majority of my new neighbors don't have kids and are really intrepid.

its true. this is a great neighborhood to live in. and i can afford it. its the perfect mix...

joel: 28th Feb 2008 - 19:31 GMT

young, working professionals are moving in and its making the neighborhood a lot safer.

bushwick gs: i go with peter on that one

I agree. My family business has been in bushwick since the 80's and there has been such a transformation. The area is cleaning up and becoming safer. I do everything I can to encourage this change.

My whole family grew up in Bushwick, and I used to love going over there to see them when I was living on Long Island. And it definitely has gotten much better. It truly is the "NEXT HOT NEIGHBORHOOD." I myself would like to move there someday.

Franny Wentzel: 13th Mar 2012 - 19:20 GMT

What makes Bushwick the hottest neighbourhood? Dunno, maybe the magma pipe that's slowly working its way to the surface?

Oh wait... wasn't supposed to mention that...

This odd little collection of 6 legged felines seem to guard the entrance to the San Fernando light rail Station in Downtown San Jose.Although the pigeons seem to be un affected by their prowess You can Just see the "SHARK TANK"...
