Cellular Warfare

When I first noticed these signs on vans parked in front of a building on Cote-de-Liesse Road a few weeks ago, I figured they were related some sort of strike. I have no idea how long the signs may have been there before I noticed them.

Last week, I finally drove close enough to read the signs, and was quite surprised to discover that the signs belonged to the owner, not some disgruntled employees. Apparently, there was a major contract dispute between Montreal-based , which has been a major cellular dealership company for over 20 years, and Toronto-based telecommunications giant . The Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission () had to rule on the dispute, and sided with Rogers. I am guessing the owners of Celluland did not take it well, if these signs are any indication. Nobody puts signs like this in front of their International Corporate Headquarters building unless they are extremely pissed.

Although these vans have not moved for a while, Celluland still seems to be in business, as I noticed other vehicles parked around the side in a freshly-plowed parking lot.
