Interesting you'd bring up Moscow ...
I was actually born there, moved to NY ... and ended up in horrible Florida -
I'm actually attempting to relocate myself back to Brooklyn ...
If all goes well I shall be back in Brooklyn within a month -
Also purchasing a DSC-P200 soon, so I shall take plenty of pictures! =]

My Mom lived at 1920 Grove Street for a short time in 1938. I found Grove Street in Bushwick on a current Brooklyn map, but then found some old articles on the area, and at some point there was a Grove St. that was renamed Glen Street. The only Glen Street I could find on the current map is in Cypress Hills or Ridgewood. Does anyone know anything about street name changes in that area? Photos, old (circa 1938) or new would be greatly appreciated, as my Mom is 80 years old, and her and I are very curious about that area. Thanks in advance!

I lived in that area for a long time. Grove st was still there in the 80's. If you use google maps, you should fing it.

Anyone remember Nancy and Felo's Candy Store on Knickerbocker and Linden? All the kids from 116 and 291 would hang out in there at lunch time buying penny candies and playing video games. Those were the good old days!

Judi Oberheim: 29th Sep 2008 - 04:38 GMT

I remember getting the "best" malted in this candy store......2+ glasses!

I remember a different Brooklyn. One that was cohesive. Had the Brooklyn Dodgers and had pride in living in that borough. Grew up in Brownsville of the 1930's to 50's. Good memories but happy to have left New York behind.
