Kent Arnold: 23rd Mar 2008 - 18:09 GMTHad one of these brand new a few years after I returned from the Korean War. I have had 7 or8 Pontiacs since then but this one was one of the best, if not the best. It was one of the fastest on the road in those days and with a set of dual exhaust and the proper mufflers it sounded just beautiful. K Arnold. John: 11th Nov 2008 - 19:36 GMTI had a 1957 when I was in high school. Best car I ever had and wish I had it today. Mine was a Star Chief with 3 two's and a was always a head turner. I had rubber nose cones (white) that were standard equipment on a 1957 Chevy. Pontiac did not offer them so I bought them from a Chevy dealer and drilled a hold in the concave chrome insert in the bumper and ended up with a nice look to the front end of the Pontiac. Incedently, my parents bought me the car in Charleroi, PA at Mccracken Pontiac, I couldn't afford the $3800 at the time. benny: 9th Feb 2009 - 16:01 GMT

EvilGentleman: 26th Apr 2010 - 08:27 GMTRalph, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these pictures are merely one set out of several I shot at the A&W in Chateauguay, Quebec one day in 2006. Vintage car buffs gather there every Tuesday during the warmer months to show off their babies. I have no clue who owns this vehicle, or if he even knows about this article. Gabe Ramis: 16th Mar 2011 - 01:47 GMTIn 1967 my dad, and I went to Trenton N.J. in search of a Pontiac Star Chief. We had exhausted an entire day, and closing time was almost upon us, when out of the blue; we spotted what appeared to be exactly what we were looking for. An elderly couple had brought a 1957 Pontiac Star Chief, two door hard top to the Trenton Salvage Yard to sell. We were luckly to spot this gem, I don't exactly how much my dad paid for the car, but he was ready to give his soul for this car. I believe it had no more than 5,000 original miles, the car was almost new, the smell was still there. We put approximately a quarter of a million miles on this car, and was sold to a mechanic friend of my dad who kept it for many, many years. I miss that car a lot. anon (adsl-70-144-30-228.cae.bellsouth.net): 21st Jun 2011 - 21:21 GMTi got one when i was 16yo paid 275.00 had a347 and a 4 speed jetaway traded it for a honda 175 ive been sick about it for 50 years bill: 3rd Aug 2011 - 23:45 GMThave a 57 starchief pontiac 4 dr great shape from arkansas willing to sell and extra bumpers crome cont kit fenders etc 5194293938 nigel: 28th Apr 2012 - 07:55 GMTi was on a garage tour today and came across one of these pontiacs, it was a RH drive apparently one of 52 in Australia, it was amazing for its age robbie: 19th May 2012 - 00:27 GMThey i am looking for a car forums for 59 pontiac starchief ,, and looking for a web site for parts maybe thanks robbie: 21st May 2012 - 00:23 GMTi am thinking about getting a 1957 Pontiac Starchief and would like some info please ,,,i know some had hood ornaments ans didnt ,, i see soom have the exhaust through the rear bumper,,, and is there anything i should look for when buying ???? thanks Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
