Authentic Cleveland

At last I close out my series on Cleveland. These are a few pictures from Cleveland's Little Italy, on the East Side. Old John D is buried not too far from here.

If you're ever in Cleveland, make a trip to Mama Santa's for some delicious Italian cuisine.

And of course, top it off with a delicious cannoli from the dolceria across the street.

My trip to Cleveland was, sadly, too short, but in the brief time I was there I learned that it is a heartwarming city, and very endearing to the people who live there. It has seen more than its share of hard times, but it still stands strong as it fights to regain the status it held long ago. At the risk of betraying my ignorance, I'll wrap up my dissertation here. I honestly hope you all have enjoyed some of my photos, and that I have been able to give you a different view of this, the Forest City, Metropolis of the Western Reserve, C-Town, Cleve-town, America's North Coast: Cleveland, Ohio.

joey, i'm glad you've enjoyed. the approval of a native clevelander means alot to me.

i thank you also for your series, i've never been to cleveland except for a stopover at the airport. i hear that someone revitalized the home used in the christmas story. where to next little ukraine? and i like your name, as a matter of fact many names used here are very interesting. i'm sorry my name is so dull,'jack' just never thought of a good screen name.

little ukraine: 11th Dec 2006 - 14:50 GMT

i read that too, recently, that they've turned the home into a museum of sorts. by they, i mean one guy who was an enormous fan of the movie. that house is in the tremont section of cleveland, an area i didn't have a chance to visit, and it opened as a museum just a few weeks ago.
where to next? unfortunately, i have nothing planned, though i'm looking to go to nashville sometime soon.

joey: 12th Dec 2006 - 03:35 GMT

nashville! be sure to visit the gaylord opryland hotel. and remember the song, 'nashville cats' playin as clean as country water . . .
