At the corner of Lorain and West 25th stands the West Side Market, an absolutely beautiful building completed in 1912 and granted Landmark Status in 1973. I have no shots of the outside, but these of the inside capture some of the grandeur.

i like your photo of the brick ceiling. there are a few bulbs that need replacing.
my grandfather had a butchers job at the market. i'm not certain of the date, but i'm guessing in the 1920s. he would tell me about a roll of quarters that rolled into the sewer. an old man's tale. he passed away in 1973.

we were there early in the day, around lunchtime. we really enjoyed our visit. i got some good shots around the neighborhood. soon to be posted.
look close it's still the same flags as in the original photo on this post.

i found out that my grandfather worked at the central market. maybe on woodland road. before my time.
