i never imagined that such beautiful streetscapes existed in houston. what type of neighborhood is the montrose, anyway?

aer suzuki: yeah this is nice.

We have lots of beautiful streetscapes here! I promise to photograph more!

Here's some wiki info on The Montrose, although in the wiki, they refer to The Montrose as Neartown. No one really calls this area Neartown.

Montrose is hard to describe without writing a full blown essay. Everything comes together at Montrose would be a start, but there is just so much more to it.

colavitos ghost: oh boy! not nice!

This picture doesnt represent ALL of Montrose. Some of the area has cracked-out broken sidewalks (and pple) that will fracture your ankles if you try to walk on them. There are areas that are occupied by male prostitutes walking the streets. Other areas are nice though, (mostly past Westhiemer-towards the Museum district). Its weird because in the same block you have condos on one side and the next you have slums and abandoned old houses with squatters.. Thats what they mean by everything comes together at montrose ha!

Man, I used to live in the Montrose area when first came to Houston in 1992. The place we use to live in still stands, I like how the Montrose streetscapes just give the area some definition. In Mexico we have cool streetscapes this narrow too. Hopefully when I'm older I'll have a chance to move back to Montrose, it's like my sicond home.
