i often ate here at the westway when i worked as a concierge at the milford plaza, the waldorf and the plaza. there was nothing better than working in the city and strolling thru rockefeller center at this time of year. the city becomes a wonderland of excitement. stores get ready for the holidays, people become friendlier, taverns become exciting and the crouds of tourists and families visiting our city make the days pass all too quickly. autumn in new york, why does it seem so exciting?

ever wonder where all the elks go when they visit our city? well here it is, the elk hotel. i think this joint has a great history to it and then again it could just be another dive, i dunno. i think the next time im in the city ill stop in and get some history on it for you guys.

the westway diner is on 9th avenue, and i used to live right across the street, a block up. to the right of the diner, you can see the victoria supermarket (now closed, though the sinage remains) which was a great, tinly little independent grocery... that was also really cheap, which was good, because living in that part of town meant i was always broke. heh. thanks for posting these, jack.

Imagine my amazement when i bought the movie jumper and seen thishotel in it as it was a good cheap place to stay while i handled some bad legal issues i do want to thank new york city and the elk hotel for having discression about my check in and the jewish and irish lawyers up there that gave me the advice i needed to take on a very corrupt virginia legal system in tazewell county sometimes one has to take risks in life to win and new york is well known for helping people out in a bad situation it helped to violate parole to get the legal expertise i couldnt get in virginia and my own state west virginia as i see it new york city earned my love and as of now i do see new york city as my home state since west virginia wants to let its citizens set back and get falsely accused of a crime we didnt commit by a corrupt state like virginia thanks new york i owe you one and will be back soon for some real vacation time instead of business and to all new yorkers watch yourself when going threw the state of virginia please.my contact info is apollo06apollo@yahoo.com
