Another exhibit from the 2006 Toronto Nuit Blanche "contemporary art thing".

University of Toronto: Dark Hart
Curated by Barbara Fischer

The films were projected on to the end wall of the Hart House pool. Hart House is a beautiful old building that serves as a University of Toronto student centre. The films (what I saw at least) consisted of a bunch of specially made footage spliced with various other commercial films (eg. A Clockwork Orange). Candles, humidity, and the odour of chlorine added ambience. The pictures looked particularly pretty reflected in the rippling water.

ooh! pretty! i once went to a film event at a swimming pool, and the films lit the water and the water lit the roof in a ripply way that was just lovely. there was also a bar and people, including me, who decided to swim. i think there was a broken nose, but no other incidents, but the organisers were terribly anxious about the drunks swimming.
