Who's the Monkeys Uncle?

- Michelle - Wednesday, September 27th, 2006 : goo

The other day I was reading the Toronto Star and it was talking about some high-wire monkeys that I recognized as belonging to my neighborhood (Broadview/Danforth = Cambridge Avenue).

It started out with 3 and now there has been a real boom in their population.

My question is: who is the monkey's uncle? I've heard there was a dispute between neighbors about this. Apparently one neighbor complained to police to have the monkeys removed and this led to nothing.

I personally enjoy these monkeys. Cute, furry, full of spirit.

I WANT them! They are cute, furry and full of spirit! I hope they have a good time up there.

zagg: We need a monkey conspiracy.

Michelle: 28th Sep 2006 - 03:27 GMT

I agree. I think if I have the chance I would like to have one of those monkeys dangling off my balcony here at the apartment!

Sirhcbre: Why would someone complain about Monkeys?

joey: 28th Sep 2006 - 05:04 GMT

in america; because it would lower property values

Michelle: 28th Sep 2006 - 15:15 GMT

Not so sure why someone is complaining. I think that they add property value because the neighborhood is cute and these just add to its quirky character.

your correct, michelle, but even more, its the homeowners who put them up there or the kids, whoever, its a fun thing, a laugh, but what will happen when they become wet and freeze over into a block of ice and the weight from these frozen monkeys will bring down the power lines and then you know what....

Get out of your car, buddy: 28th Sep 2006 - 20:17 GMT

This tells teenagers and bored nannies where to buy drugs. Don't you guys know anything?

Stand under one, and you will see what I mean. Or, if you stand there long enough, you will get hit in the head by a frozen monkey.

Biff: Oh,I've got a monkey on my back...

Michelle: 29th Sep 2006 - 01:45 GMT

Nothings worse than a frozen barrel of monkeys.

Michelle: 29th Sep 2006 - 01:45 GMT

So seriously - does anyone know how they got up there?

The Monkey: How did I end up here?
