Driving Downtown
[previous] :: [next]
back in 1965 i was home on leave and a bunch of us were driving down this road. only it was elevated at the time and was covered with cobble stones. yes, the west side highway was a road of cobblestones with some of the sharpest curves in its path. we were racing to downtown and we had one too many drinks under our belts. it was raining to boot and we miscalculated a sharp curve at this juncture of the road and we swerved and luckily there was a down ramp which we hit at 100 miles per and ran down it into the street and swerved and turned until we came to a stop a block away. we all woke up.
