I really like the pictures of the empty mansions from Detroit. it's sad to see but the decay of Detroit can be very interesting.

I am fascinated with these old abandoned houses, and even the entire neighborhoods that are empty. I get lost in wondering what they were like before the trouble started. I wonder where those people are now.

There are forces at work now to revitalize parts of the city. I wonder if this rebirth will carry forward and pull the city out of this mess. I should try to get images of the rebirth...

It's so exciting to see that someone is still interested in detroits artistic growth like I am.I'm a female artist who grew up in detroit, my whole life but, are well aware of outside cities. There is no other city w/originality like ours.Being an artist I have always had an eye for what many people may view as,junk. I on the other hand LOVE the artwork of abandoned buildings. Keep doing what you do and, much love.

it's actually beautiful in an abstract and artistic way. yeah sure, the decaying buildings are an eyesore but some of the most interesting things i have ever seen. i like being in Detroit despite what people call the huge "risk" im taking being an 18 yr old white girl that likes to hang out down there but as long as you're not looking for trouble, it mostly likely won't find you.

Hover Scrap

Marcel's old hovercraft had seen better days. These shots were taken at the old Kangirsujuaq dump in 2001. The site has since been cleaned up and the dump relocated.
