ksedge: #2 and 7 are fantastic.

chiamattt: awesome pics dude.

EvilGentleman: 19th Aug 2006 - 22:38 GMT

Just curious, does your camera have a high-speed "burst" mode? The shot on #7 is amazing. I wish I could do that.

jamie: 21st Aug 2006 - 18:30 GMT

i think hool has what is known in photographic circles as "an expensive ass camera"

Cameo: 21st Aug 2006 - 20:16 GMT

I believe he mentioned before a while back he has a Canon 5D. It's got quite a burst ability, but only at 4 fps.

But, I suspect he has a great talent in observing his mark, and knowing just when to shoot.

hool: 21st Aug 2006 - 21:09 GMT

only 3fps for the canon 5d, which is what i'm using. 3fps is not much of a burst. "spraying" a scene with a burst of frames isn't really the best approach for street photos.

#7 i messed up because i was set in manual mode from a previous shot, 1/500th at f11 or something close to that, at iso 250 i think. i forgot to reset the exposure mode before continuing. the raw frame is almost completely dark, but i was able to recover a lot of detail. i saw the kid jump over a prior barrier, so i knew he was going to do it again.

Thanks for the insight, and kudos for both the timing and the recovery job. Are you doing the editing work on a laptop? I have never had need to frequent internet cafes, but I have always assumed that the software installed on those computers must be minimal.

I hope to get a 12V adapter for our laptop next time we take a road trip, so we can just transfer the photos from one card to the laptop, while we keep shooting with the other card.

jamie: heh, i doubt they come installed with CS2

12 Gauge - The man was passing through on a Greyhound bus, while on the way from Toronto to Vancouver. Who the heck has time to go wandering around while they have a short stop before the bus leaves again, with or without them? I have travelled this way, and trust me, it was a miracle his neck was not too cramped up to be able to look up to take these pictures. Bus travel is exhausting enough as it is without having to race around to see all the parts of a city while you are supposed to be on your rest stop.
