Death on Ice

i spent my days and nights running around the antartic as i rummaged through my freezer in my lloyds thermal, 'active male' coat with fur lined hood. i thought my time was over when i saw the polar bear with it's kill on the ice. it was salvation for me, unnoticed, in my richly white colored cashmere over coat adorned with ostrich feathers, luxurious belt and dramatic bracelets inspired in all sorts of tribal designs.

i was mesmerized by the size and strength of the animal but brought back to reality when i noticed the time on my Breguet men's classique alarm wristwatch in 18-carat yellow gold, self winding movement with small seconds and date, a second time zone indicator with silvered gold dial, hand engraved on a rose engine with sapphire caseback. water resistant! since there was no boutique camps of gourmet dinners, frette sheets and hot stone massages, i quickly stole off and made great distance between me and and this wild and barren land.

it's not every man who knows how to accessorize for the arctic...

In the interests of the preservation of the prevalent pedanticism which we have been previously predisposed to possessing, I should perhaps politely point out that "Antarctica" has a "c" in it, positioned between the "r" and the "t". Furthermore, polar bears (Ursus Maritimus) are native to the Arctic. Antarctica has no known land mammals.

Nice story, by the way. Antarctic explorer, Vietnam vet, fashion-conscious bon-vivant man about town, jungle lord of the land of tigers, deep-sea diver of the South Pacific, even reaching a depth of 360 feet clad only in a speedo. Jack can rival Dirk Pitt for adventure. Who woulda thunk?

I wonder if Jack knows Frank Reade Jr. - electrical genius...

The Meatball Caper

The Meatball Caper (1955) It was a beautiful spring day, and as I gazed out the classroom window I could see myself flying over the treetops and hear all the school children calling my name. It was at that...
