In the middle of this typical Halifax West suburb there is a pond. Some might call it a small lake, others a bog. While normally dark and mucky, this night the water reflected the sun catching the cut-and-paste houses and it didn't seem so bad after all.

wow, i love the light you caught; and how the reflection of the houses seems to perfectly parallel the contour of the weeds in the foreground.

Susannah: Clayton Park, the area of western Halifax where I live and this shot was taken, is becoming more and more densely populated. Rows of town houses, large apartment buildings crammed next to each other, etc. Yet there are ponds and bogs and lakes and nature trails and wooded areas and such cutting through nearly every little neighbourhood. It's an odd little area, and one that literallly didn't exist ten to fifteen years ago. High fives all around for urban sprawl!
Peter: Thanks for the wonderful comments. The sun was about to set behind me when I took the shot. 30 seconds before I took a shot and it looked horrible, same with 30 seconds after. This was the best of the lot.

The tree stump lends a pretty cool effect as well - kind of like the lonely field hand hidden in a Van Gogh.
