Oh Canada

Happy Canada day everyone . I thought it might be nice for people to post some comments on our country , good or bad . To celebrate our national day .
I love being a canadian. My mom was a war bride and instilled in me pride in our country . My dad was a vet. ( explaines the war bride eh ). I'm first generation canadian . So when I look at our country and who we are I see a nation both young and old . With its problems to be certian but those are mostly offset by all the good things we enjoy . I like that we are welcome shore for those who do not know peace . That the dollar is not the be all end all of health care . That we beleive in justice for all . Some people can throw stones at some of these things to one degree or another , but mostly it is our foundation and a good foundation needs care when expanding our social building .
I like the being the second largest country on the world .Clean water , national parks from ocean's to mountian tops . Great food from around the world in any city .
I like it that when i travel mostly people like us because of being canadian .And no i dont know Bob from BC .
I like beer and good wine from our country .
Great women , of all shapes, colours, ( your the best )
Freedom , humility , honor .
Oh and touques .
Happy Canada day everyone . Welcome to my land .
Derek

Our country reeks of trees
Our Yaks are really large
And they smell like rotting beef carcasses
And we have to clean up after them

chiamattt: Canada day totally slipped my mind.

This was on a pedestrian overpass just outside of downtown Fredericton at about 5am on Saturday Morning. If you can't read it, it says "home on native land"

Well its been a busy weekend, sun , fun , to many drinks . So i leave you with this . I love my Country , sue me ...lol

Oh Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada , we stand on guard for thee..

Chiamattt: 4th Jul 2006 - 04:12 GMT

O Canada!
Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.

Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix.

Ton histoire est une épopée,
Des plus brillants exploits.

Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

you should love your country. your freedom was bought at a high price. your men and women before you joined with america in building this hemisphere. i, as a child, thought of canada as an extension of america. i love canada and i've only been there once, when i was at niagara.

Overall, Canada and America are great nations. But as far as to which side of the Atlantic they should have been built on, well... no comment.
