New York Is...
[previous] :: [next]
Some of you New Yorkers out there may have seen this HSBC advert on a subway car, which I snapped these lo-fi cameraphone shots with. If you haven't, it has several rows/columns of small photos bearing different people's photos and their answer to the question "New York Is...?" Though this ad campaign seems to be a vague (if not rather inneffective, from a commercial standpoint) effort to show how openminded, diverse and universal HSBC is as "the world's bank", I find it interesting that someone has apparently been going around circling some of the more derogatory epithets within the ads...
"New York is... Overrated." This article has been viewed 4765 times in the last 3 years Chris Erb: 13th Jun 2006 - 00:19 GMTI don't see how you win over customers by calling their city of residance such things as "gross", "overrated", "greedy", "rotten" or the one I really don't understand at all "hairy". Peter: 13th Jun 2006 - 13:30 GMTjeeff: well, it certainly doesnt refer to the bald dude that its printed over! heh. chris: its just one more example of lukewaram advertising that hides behind the guise of being "honest, diverse and for the people". *lol* tangent: 13th Jun 2006 - 14:26 GMTi remember the good old days when HSBC was called Midland Bank. I was never a Midland banker though. Comment on this article..[previous] :: [next] |
