Myke: 25th Mar 2006 - 21:21 GMTThe guy on the roof there seems to be holding some automatic weapon, like a carbine. It isn't a sniper rifle. Good shot though. torontofreelance: 25th Mar 2006 - 21:30 GMTThis was a recent tactical call out after a bank robbery. The bandits were believed to be held up in a nearby house. While the entry was ongoing Toronto police set up a sniper on the roof of a seniors home that backed onto the target house. The rifle is an Ar-15 / m16 varaint with a scope. While not a sniper rifle per say, for the distance involved it is ideal. for long distance shots (+100 metres) the remington 700 is used.
