Privacy Vs Law
[previous] :: [next]For all of you out there in Canada who have not been following the latest laws in Canada this is a must read... The Conservative government is in the process of passing a law that would enable police forces across this great country to have access to personal information of all technology users simply by contacting their ISP, or by calling your local phone company. Some people may say so what, some will be undecided. Before you decide just look at the big picture, imagine all your phone call's being listened too, every single phone number you dialed or received will be accessed, every website you contect too, every file you download, every conversation that you have on-line can be accessed. In 1983 the Charter of Rights and Freedoms where introduced giving all Canadian's the right of freedom of speech, freedom of association, and a host of other rights and freedom's that most people take for granted. If this bill should pass in the House of Commons you can kiss all of your freedoms good-bye. The police and our politicials will say we have to update our investigative techniques due to the increased violence. I say that's bull if you go to Statics Canada website you'll actually notice that the crime rate in Canada has actually decreased over the last 5 years. I have no idea where these officials get there information from but it's wrong. Don't let the police or the current government use fear into taking away our rights as Canadian's. Everyone should contact their member of Parliment and demand that they do not support this bill. If you value free speech, if you support the Charter then I urge you to be proactive....... I'm a Kahnawake Mohawk who was politically active during the Oka Crisis of 1990. This level of government interference is normal, by our standards. We have been living under illegal surveillance for ages. Welcome to our world. Frequent Pliers: 6th Mar 2006 - 18:10 GMTAll they woud find out by eavesdropping/tracing me is that I am a biking fanatic, that I shop at Canadian Tire online, and that I read the New York Times... But then again, it migh be enough to put me in prison. jack: 6th Mar 2006 - 18:29 GMTi feel the govt. is getting too involved in citizens affairs. but look at these politicians, they are all scared of terrorists. it is too easy to infiltrate the cities and cause death. ex-pres clinton did not go after the terrorists who first attacked the wtc and the ship cole. then the news media attacks politicians because they could have done better. do you know that in paterson, new jersey and in other muslin areas the people cheered when the wtc was hit. we live in a crazy society that is consistently contradicting itself. i read years ago of religious predictions from aparitions of these impending dooms. i laughed them off and thought it was fantasy and insanity. a means of getting people to get back to church and God. there was a premonition of a great explosion in the sky that everyone around the world would see. i did'nt believe it but now after 5 years i realize that it was the wtc. everyone around the world saw the explosion in the sky. check it out yourselves by looking up, fatima, lourdes and garabandal. we live in a world where children are preyed upon as never before, kidnapped, raped, murdered. mothers destroy the baby in their own wombs, mothers kill their own children by drowning, its all insanity. sorry to get crazy like this, we want to live in a friendly and loving world. we want to travel and work and save and have a little fun in our humdrun days. im sorry for the way people were treated because of their race, creed, because they looked different. we took property and tried to annihilate the native americans, much like the germans did to the jews in the wwii. the racial hatred against blacks right up to today is horrible. we are 100 years after most of that hatred and have we changed that much. where is our prejudice today. life has changed.
