A Beautiful Sunday Afternoon
[previous] :: [next]T'was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, bright and balmy at -3C. I decided to go for a long walk at the Boardwalk. It turned out to be a very long walk, three hours in total. Here are some of the nice distractions along the way.
This dog is really huge!
Opps, that's me!
The start of global warming?
Even Mr. Squirrel was out! Beaches, Toronto, February 12, 2006 This article has been viewed 2760 times in the last 3 years Elicar: 13th Feb 2006 - 00:18 GMTWhat was I thinking? The date should be February 12, 2006. It must be my bone spurs hurting after that long walk! joey: 13th Feb 2006 - 06:22 GMTwhen i was a kid. we lived in cleveland, on lake erie. i remember winters of frozen great lakes. no more? talk about your global warming.
Julian: 13th Feb 2006 - 17:25 GMTI heard that Grey Squirrels were imported to the UK from Canada in the 19th century - a time that red squirrels look back on like arrival of the conquistadores in the Americas. They should take heart - they have never had to face the Black Squirrel.. Elicar: 13th Feb 2006 - 17:55 GMTEditor: Thanks! I am just a pretty face sometimes! elaine: 13th Feb 2006 - 18:09 GMTalso, is that dog a newfoundland? i hear they have webbed feet (i want one) elaine: 13th Feb 2006 - 18:12 GMTalso, black squirrels are so pretty! i never even knew they existed til the first time i went to new york. they look like my then cat, chaos. i wish we did have the black ones, they are more glamourous than grey ones. i haven't seen a red for years. but i did feed one a wild boar pate sandwhich once. which was wrong. Ken: 13th Feb 2006 - 18:15 GMTI love icy fingers, too. But just watch not touch...^^ Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 13th Feb 2006 - 18:33 GMTMy Godson has webbed toes.
grange: 13th Feb 2006 - 19:58 GMTArrrrrrr . dem dar newfs dawgs . der da best .Keep ya from drownin when ya get to much screech ovr at Doyles place , en ya falls off da dock ,and ya gets in da deep waters . Elicar: 13th Feb 2006 - 21:42 GMTElaine, you'll love my backyard. I co-exist with squirrels in the summer. When I moved in to my current house in 2003, I started naming them, Joe, Dick, Harry, etc. But there are so many of them that I got confused. So, now, all of them are called, "Hey, you!" When my garden gets dug up, I don't know who to blame, my "pet" raccoons or "pet" squirrels? For all I know, it is my neighbours cats! The dog? Sorry,I didn't ask for the breed! I just drooled over him and he drooled on me and we said our goodbyes and promised to write! ;) elaine: 13th Feb 2006 - 22:13 GMTgrange - i so missed that damn book when it was finished, and the film was good but it wasn't the same. i really laughed when i read that, thanks! elicar - i am with you on the outdoor 'pets'. i am sad that all of mine hate and fear me, but it's better than them thinking they can trust humans in general, i guess. grange: 14th Feb 2006 - 16:24 GMTI think I will have Kevin Spacey play me in the remake ."Ayes a bys dat builds da boat" elaine: 14th Feb 2006 - 22:59 GMTin any given film about my life or anyone else's life where i play a part let it be known that i want the actress to have really good hair.
