The things you see sometimes...

No clue what this guy is listening to, but it sure must be ...

Helen: My neck hurts just looking at him!

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 16:30 GMT

Does the sign in the background really say Tonkanese soup? Isn't that a type of dog?

Peter: 10th Feb 2006 - 16:40 GMT

i have a tonkinese cat... despite the fact that shes named "stella" and rests on a scarf, she is not, in fact, a :

image 8447

...and im sure she would make a terrible soup.

ahimsa: alls she needs now is a sovereign ring, mate

EvilGentleman: ???

ahimsa: 10th Feb 2006 - 17:51 GMT

him musta got aholt o sum good ganja mate. n is dat a bird or a pony tail comin outta da back o his head?

Leon: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:05 GMT

You positive he wasn't dead?
In cases like this, always find a nice pointy stick to jab the subject with.

I'm pretty sure that's a pigeon petruding out of the back of his head.

EvilGentleman: 10th Feb 2006 - 20:38 GMT

Leon is right, it's a pigeon. He was snoring, so I assume he was alive.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 20:42 GMT

Duh! How could I forget Tonkinese is a cat? We had Siamese and Burmese cats growing up. Loud buggers. Very smart. I seem to remember seeing Stella with a lamp on her head.
Back to the original picture: If this were a Tarantino flick, there would be arterial spray everywhere.

EvilGentleman: 10th Feb 2006 - 21:08 GMT

Back to the food sign, anybody know what a Vietnamese sandwich is?

image 8457

And the pigeon is clearer now

EvilGentleman: 10th Feb 2006 - 21:11 GMT

btw, before anyone asks, the location is and in , just across the from the / studios

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 21:11 GMT

Look Peter! It totally is cat soup! Now I dread to think what's in a vietnamese sandwich.

Jono Cono: 11th Feb 2006 - 00:06 GMT

Vietnamese sandwiches are actually pretty good, simple and very cheap ($2). The basic sandwich is called "Banh Mi" classic French-Vietnamese sandwich, usually served or crusty or soft baguette. There's all kinds of course, including chicken, pork, certain ingredients include: fresh herbs, hot thai peppers, pickled vegetables, zesty dressings, cilantro.

EvilGentleman: 20th Feb 2006 - 02:42 GMT

Enough with the dumb comments, John. Don't forget, I have pics of YOU, too. So be careful.

EvilGentleman: 20th Feb 2006 - 18:01 GMT

Ummm, Editor...
Many thanks for cleaning up this page. But my response to some deleted posts is still here, which now makes it look as though I am giving shit to an innocent (and actually quite helpful) Jono Cono. Could you be so kind once again as too remove my post of Feb 20th, 02:42? And this one, too?

EvilGentleman: 8th May 2007 - 21:53 GMT

Editor, could you please remove my comments dated Feb 20, 2006? A friend of mine was being a pain in the ass and I was trying to stop him. His comment was deleted, but my response (and the subsequent deletion request) remain.

EvilGentleman: 8th May 2007 - 21:58 GMT

Here is where the picture was shot. The restaurant is long gone, replaced by the "Twins Pub". The bench was in front of the supermarket on the N side of the intersection.

Vandalism

This is on the train bridge. There was more but I heard a train coming so I figured it would be a good idea to move on. Ah, the irony. This sign has been destroyed so many times I'm...
