I'd find it very hard to stick a hook through this top hat wearing fellow. I suppose you aim for the bowtie.

des: im just spechless...is this for real??????

pietro: LOL!!!!i can't believe it,no way,lol!!

Peter: 6th Feb 2006 - 16:57 GMT

hehehehe. ive seen these, too, but down south, where i grew up, in ...

elaine: yum yum yum!

Hobart: 6th Feb 2006 - 17:07 GMT

They might as well remove all hassle from this process entirely, and install a machine that simply dispenses fresh fish!

des: how do they stay alive inside???

elaine: sheer cunning?

jack: 6th Feb 2006 - 19:21 GMT

when you deposit your coins into machine a bunch of worms come tumbling out. now the trick is to pick the worms as they scramble for earth.

Selig: awesome.

jeeff: not just live, it's classy bait.

GGP: hilarious!

joey: 7th Feb 2006 - 02:49 GMT

the worm could only be classier if he was carrying a cane.

jeeff: 7th Feb 2006 - 04:12 GMT

him and mister peanut would make a serious pair of mini-wedding crashers.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 7th Feb 2006 - 14:52 GMT

He sings 'Putting on the Ritz" to the fish to lure them in.

snowbank: 8th Feb 2006 - 17:20 GMT

I've seen this, it is located in Port Credit, Mississauga right across the mouth of the Credit River.
The fire time I saw it I laughed, I stopped and asked the gas station attendant if anyone has used it and he said that a couple of people have.

grange: 10th Feb 2006 - 13:19 GMT

there all over the place up here in Owen Sound .. We had to put them up as all the tourists were digging up our yards for dem delicious dew worms BBQ. Now if we could only keep the leafers out of our trees we would have it made ..OMG i'm livin la vita hillbilly ..
Hey Catherine, you following me ?

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 14:25 GMT

Possibly. Where are you going?

grange: 10th Feb 2006 - 17:51 GMT

Not sure , but when i get there , i will send you cab fare. SHHHHHHHH Keep it between us , Don't tell anyone ok, wink ,wink, nudge, nudge , say know more!

Peter: 10th Feb 2006 - 17:52 GMT

the next person who passes a machine like this needs to make a purchase from it and take photos of the contents.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 17:58 GMT

Nods as good as a wink to a blind bat, Grange.
back to the bait: if I see one I'll buy all the worms and set them free. There will be a new civilization of civilized, hat-wearing worms. Maybe they'll worship me.

Leon: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:04 GMT

Ironically they have a similar machine like that one here in Florida, in the local Wal-mart -.-

Peter: leon: you have a mission! take photos! ;)

Leon: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:24 GMT

Peter, deal ... but you're buying me a digital camera.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:27 GMT

Can't you go into Wal Mart and steal one? It's for art.

grange: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:28 GMT

ok. just for record they also the sell lures and salmon eggs(roe). So if your a little hungry for some salmon cavier . dig in ! Catherine , how come these posting end up at food huh ?Oh queen of the top hat worm people

Leon: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:29 GMT

Catherine Penfold-Waxman, last time I attempted to steal from Wal-mart, and dwarf with down-syndrome that was employed there beat me with a broom.

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: 10th Feb 2006 - 18:40 GMT

Hot damn! Now there's a beating I'd like to see! (not that I'd like to see you hurt, or anything, Leon. Just a wild image).
I'm thinking of changing my business cards to reflect my new title of Queen of the top hat worm people. But I read a lot of sci-fi. They'll probably turn on me and feast on my rotting corpse (food imagery, again).

grange: 10th Feb 2006 - 20:29 GMT

leon ; As with the posting on the racoons , when attacked at Wal -mart , play dead , hands over face and neck . They will get bored and go away .
Catherine ; your the queen of my heart , awwwwwwww aint that sweet .
I hope someone at the olympics post a pic from Italy .Now that would be a GREAT .

sherry: i wish i had thought of this. awsome!!!!

bill maynard: were can i buy one

mykey: 27th Jul 2007 - 20:50 GMT

Hi guys! Do you know locations where I can find such a vending machine in Mississauga (except the one in port Credit)?

AgnosticDharma: 9th Aug 2007 - 17:27 GMT

I saw this machine last month in Port Credit. My other half felt sorry for the poor worms so we bought some their freedom and set them free in the field behind it. They pout them inside aluminum cans with a plastic lid on top. And they are kept ice cold.

I thought, you know. with the top hat and all, that they'd have better living conditions...

Catherine Penfold-Waxman: Yay! Freedom for the worms!

Belroc: This is really funny!!

brian: 22nd Aug 2007 - 04:10 GMT

I take it these comments are from people that don't fish . All the worms need is a container with a little dirt and kept at a cool temp. The wal-mart I go to in florida has a refrigerator full of them .

Brian: 22nd Oct 2007 - 05:37 GMT

Where exactly is this vending machine in port credit located? Also if there is any in mississauga let me know I wanna fish..

It exists !: 1st Jul 2008 - 14:49 GMT

It's located just outside of the "Pioneer" gas station on Lakeshore, a little east of Hurontario...

For real.

Robert: 6th Aug 2008 - 17:25 GMT

Yeah!! These things do exist.. and just like 'Snowbank' said, there is one in PORT CREDIT in MISSISSAUGA at the corner of HWY10 (Hurontario) and LAKESHORE. Its basically a CAN with a GREEN LID (almost like a coffee lid) ... inside are the worms - Plain and Simple! :D

Grant: 26th Aug 2009 - 14:34 GMT

I purchased a similar vending machine from Scott Madole at http://www.vending.com/, big mistake.

He mis-represented the purchase contract and then after the machine was delivered I have had nothing but problems with it, they won’t take it back and they have discontinued the machine.
I would stay far away from this company, the machines are poorly designed and the service and support is terrible. This machine is junk and the people that work there are are like bad used car salesmen.
Grant
